ABOUT INGO

Founded in 2002, INGO Third Sector Resource is an International Organization uniting, galvanizing, mobilizing and repositioning the African NGOs and the Third Sector Organizations.

INGO is committed to building a vibrant, proactive civil society to help Africa attain the millennium development goal, through the networks, partnerships and collaborative approach that the INGO conference platform provides. As an organisation INGO is recognised and respected for its global vision, its commitment to excellence and the values of diversity and pluralism by which it pursues its mission.

The INGO vision is to bring about increased Donor support, NGO to NGO co-operation and collaboration through advocacy and the sharing of skills and resources amongst African NGOs and Third Sector Organisations. INGO strives to broaden the participation of African NGOs to take responsibility for delivering some of the vital needs of the support infrastructure in their communities throughout Africa.

INGO is expanding and sensitising the international community on the critical issues affecting African Development, such as the debt burden, peace and security, HIV/AIDS, food production and distribution of resources and the literacy campaign.
INGO is unique in that it is the only forum at the moment that brings Southern and Northern development practitioners and NGOs, donors and recipients together to dialogue and explore reasonable frameworks for mutual co-operation and collaboration.

We believe we are playing a critical and increasingly dynamic role pioneering donor confidence in support of the African third Sector.

OBJECTIVES OF INGO

INGO is dedicated to organising conferences, workshops and seminars aimed at improving the capacity, of the private and public Sector in the true spirit of Public, Private Partnership of African Third Sector organisations and practitioners to improve their service delivery and advocacy.

Part of the INGO objectives is to introduce and support and also run initiatives that focus on development projects related to the area of our current thematic focus which are, education, health, poverty reduction which are key to attain the Millennium Development Goals. INGO has been a provider of capacity building programmes for Parliamentarians and legislative bodies.

We also aim to reach the poorest of the poor at the grassroots level through our rural educational resource outreach programmes.
